About The Group

The Group is a multi-concept hospitality company behind some of New York's most beloved French brasseries and dining destinations, including La Grande Boucherie, Boucherie, and Olio e Più. We're opening Boucherie Upper West Side , and we're looking for energetic, hardworking Barbacks to join our founding bar team.

The Role

As a Barback, you'll be the engine behind a smooth-running bar—supporting our bartenders throughout the shift with setup, prep, stocking, and cleanliness, while helping create a welcoming experience for every guest at the bar. It's a fast-paced, hands-on role and a great way to build a career behind the bar.

What You'll Do

Guest Service

• Greet guests warmly as they enter and leave the bar area and help ensure a great experience
• Run food from the kitchen to bar guests, checking accuracy and anticipating guest needs
• Execute beverage refills when requested
• Clear used glassware, plates, silverware, and napkins, and wipe down the bar counter and stools
• Dress in bartender-matching uniform to encourage guest interaction
• Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines

Shift Support

• Complete opening, transitional, and closing side work and prep each shift
• Stock the bar with beverage, fruit, glass, and paper products before, during, and after service
• Prepare batch recipes and maintain fresh, properly cut garnishes
• Rotate products properly and label perishable items
• Check draught beers and change kegs as needed with a teammate, using proper lifting technique
• Maintain bar sanitation to Department of Health standards and keep the work area clean and organized
• Notify the Manager on Duty immediately of any health or safety concerns
• Participate in staff training and attend mandatory meetings

What You Bring

• 6+ months of experience as a barback or busser in a similar concept
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Basic math skills
• A friendly, helpful, and positive attitude at all times
• Polished, professional presentation
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs and to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods
• Comfort performing under pressure while maintaining professionalism
• Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and a variable schedule based on business needs

Compensation

This is an hourly, tipped position. For tipped employees, base wage will be $11.35 with a $5.65 tip credit applied, if wages earned do not reach minimum wage.
